Capital equipment outlives the companies that made it. A reflow oven installed twenty years ago can still be running a production line today, and the people maintaining it need the same information the original site once carried: which oven is which, what each family was built for, where the datasheet is, and how to source a replacement fan or controller board. When the original division's assets changed hands, that reference drifted off the live web.
