Proper power up and power down of an oven. Logging in. Software Operator's screens. Changing a Recipe. Common Alarms- causes and fixes. What to do, and what not to do before you call a maintenance technician.
MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN TRAINING
RI-02-16h
This course lasts approximately 16 hours. Initially, four hours are spent in the classroom covering theory. Then 8 hours are spent on a Research oven covering preventive maintenance and troubleshooting, including hands on repair of a non-functioning machine. The final four hours are spent leveraging the knowledge gained to maximize uptime of the oven. The coursework assumes a technician's level of reading and understanding schematics, using multi-meters, and hand tools.
Sample coursework includes:
Theory of oven and software operation. Preventive maintenance including computer maintenance. Reading Research schematics. Troubleshooting. Creating trace-ability, accountability, and preventing downtime with software passwords. Maintenance data logging and analysis. Controller configuration - CF parameters.
PROCESS ENGINEERING, MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING TRAINING
RI-03-8h
This course lasts approximately 8 hours. Four hours are spent in the classroom; four hours are spent profiling a PCB interspersed with software operation training. This course assumes an engineering level familiarity with the SMT process and basic oven operation.
Sample coursework includes:
Basic oven operation, basic heat transfer and theory of oven design. Correct sizing of equipment. Optimizing a PCB profile. Troubleshooting the SMT reflow process: common solder defects- their causes and effects. Various solder paste compositions. Operation in inert atmospheres Trace-ability and accountability within StarWin software. SPC data collection and analysis. Controlling recipes at an engineering level.
